What is the “Virtual Jump Sketch”?
The VIRTUAL JUMP SKETCH is an international project that promotes VIRTUAL TRIPS to wonderful places through DRAWINGS / SKETCHES. Those places are considered as impossible or very hard to reach in real life. These trips may be made visible through a drawing/sketch “jump” done by the authors on their blogs and social networks (we are on Instagram) using the tag/hashtag:

Join us! Together and through the drawing, we will Virtual Jump to places considered almost impossible or very hard to visit during our lives, either for lack of financial support, because of physical inaccessibility or the destination is considered to be far far away, because of political or religious reasons or other.
How to get start?
Choose your destination and do your “Virtual Jump Sketch”. Then share it on Internet using the project’s hashtag #virtualjumpsketch.
We usually choose a place to visit, but please just feel free to go wherever you wish the most!!

We use Internet tools to search for photos, videos and information about the place to visit online and to be inspired on creating our drawings (e.g., thematic/tourist websites about the place, Unesco (if it’s classified as World Heritage significance), Google Earth, Google Street, Google Arts & Culture, History Channel, National Geographic, Wikipedia, etc.
. Choose your favourite tools/materials to create at least one drawing/sketch (e.g., ballpoint pen and a sheet of paper, markers, crayons, crayons, watercolour, gouache, acrylics, cutouts and glue, stamps, etc.). Important Note: It is neither permitted nor ethical to make direct copies of photos/images of other authors! Adapt and challenge yourself! Be creative!
. To write, or not, about why you decided to do this “Virtual Jump” is your decision (e.g., a brief description of the site; the reason to draw it, but “impossible” to visit it; mention curiosities; include one or more links to information, etc.).
. We can share our drawings/sketchings online in our blogs and social networks using: #virtualjumpsketch
It is not mandatory to share, but it is much more interesting and useful. This project is not an obligation, but fun!
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
This is a project promoted by Portuguese people living in Portugal (Europe) and was released on 27th February 2018. It was imagined by Rita Caré, when she was unable to do Urban Sketching (to draw on location), an activity that has been part of her daily routine since 2009. To share is also an important part of the Urban Sketcher lives, which she really misses. That’s why a group of Portuguese sketchers jump together in this way. It is because they love to travel and draw, even if they do it in another kind of drawing, inspired by photos and/or videos of places that fascinate them. And they wish that others jump with them too!

O que é o “Salto Virtual” ?
O SALTO VIRTUAL é um projecto internacional com o objectivo de, através do DESENHO, impulsionar VIAGENS VIRTUAIS a locais maravilhosos, consideradas impossíveis ou inacessíveis de concretizar na vida real. Estas viagens podem tornar-se visíveis através de um “salto” rabiscado dado pelos seus autores e através da partilha dos seus desenhos em blogs e redes sociais (estamos no Instagram) usando sempre a mesma tag/hashtag:

Venham connosco! Saltemos Virtualmente através do desenho para locais considerados impossíveis ou inacessíveis de visitar um dia, seja por falta de suporte financeiro, por inacessibilidade física, porque é mesmo muito longe, por motivos políticos ou religiosos ou por outros.
Como participar?
Escolher um destino e dar um “Salto Virtual Rabiscado”. Depois criar/partilhar um ou mais desenhos utilizando a hashtag #virtualjumpsketch.
Geralmente, escolhemos um local para visitar, mas por favor, sê livre de ir para onde mais desejares!!

Usamos ferramentas na Internet para pesquisar fotografias, vídeos e informações sobre o local a visitar virtualmente e para nos inspirarmos na criação do(s) nosso(s) desenhos (por exemplo, páginas temáticas/turísticas sobre o local, Unesco (se for Património da Humanidade), Google Earth, Google Street, Google Arts & Culture, Canal História, National Geographic, Wikipedia, etc.
. Escolhemos os materiais que nos apetecer para criarmos pelo menos um desenho (por exemplo, esferográfica e folha de papel, marcadores, lápis-de-cor, lápis-de-cera, aguarela, guache, acrílicos, recortes e cola, carimbos, etc.). Nota Importante: Não é permitido, nem é ético, fazer cópia directa de fotos/imagens de outros autores! Adaptem-se! Desafiem-se! Sejam criativos!
. Podem, ou não, escrever um texto para explicar o motivo de darem este “Salto Virtual”. Por exemplo: breve descrição do local; motivação para o desenhar, mas ser “impossível” de o visitar; referir curiosidades; incluir um ou mais links para informação, etc.
. Partilhemos os nossos desenhos online nos nossos blogs e redes sociais (estamos no Instagram) através da mesma tag/hashtag: #virtualjumpsketch
Não é obrigatório partilhar, mas é mais interessante e útil. Este projecto não é uma obrigação, mas uma diversão!
NOTAS ADICIONAIS
Este é um projecto promovido por Portugueses que vivem em Portugal (Europa) e foi lançado em 27 de Fevereiro de 2018. Foi imaginado por Rita Caré, quando se viu impossibilitada de concretizar Urban Sketching, ou seja, desenhar ao vivo na rua, actividade que realiza no seu dia-a-dia desde 2009. A Partilha também faz parte do que é ser Urban Sketcher, o que lhe faz muita falta. Por isso, um grupo de desenhadores Portugueses saltam desta forma em conjunto, porque adoram viajar e desenhar, mesmo que o façam noutro tipo de desenho, inspirado por fotografias e/ou vídeos de locais que os fascinam. E querem que outros Saltem consigo também!
